I need the Author and Title of a book I read many times in Middle School.
The plot is a young girl works in her abusive father’s candy shop and sneaks out at night to go help an over weight man sell news papers on the beach.
She finds out that the man is the father of the boy whom she likes.
That’s all I can remember of it, but I’d apreciate the help.

Trying to find a movie I previously watched its basically about in the future all the men are presumable wiped out by a bio weapon they created and there is one lady the main character of the movie who is obsessed with guys and she ends up genetically making one but when the authorities find out about what she has done they hunt her and the male down great movie would like to see it again but just cant remember what it was called im not sure about the year either 1980’s-1990’s hope you have more luck then I did

I am trying to find out the title & author of a book. I know a little of the plot, and also that it might have been made into a movie in the 1930’/40’s. Here goes.
The story concerns two German families, one of which has emigrated to America.
The family in Germany have done something that has harmed the son of the family in America. The Americans write letters to the Germans, which implicate the Germans in some activity against the Nazis. The German family write back, asking them not to mention such things, as the Gestapo is censoring mail. The Americans use this as revenge for their son, and write back, implicating the Germans. There is no reply to this, suggesting that the Gestapo have intercepted the letter, and arrested the German family.
I think this may be based on a true story.

I am looking for the name or author of a book i read a long time ago. it is a horror i think (it involves a haunted house). it is quite a thick book and has a tricky name; that is why i can’t remember it.
Its about a husband and wife whose son goes missing. they move away to a house to escape it as the wife is depressed.
umm, turns out the house is haunted by a group of orphans who used to live there and were torchured by the man who looked after them, who was psychotic and turned on by torchure.
BITS I REMEMBER: one orphan was a small boy and reaches out to the mother. she mistakes it for her son.
Turns out her son was not missing. in the park where she lost him, his body is found in nearby water (a river or something) where he accidently fell in and drowned.
when the psychotic man kills one (and eventually more) of the kids, he throws them down a well in the basement
The sound of the man tapping his whip is heard at night by the husband and wife
The basement door is always ajar no matter what which is noted quite alot.
These are the only details i can remember and i would love to read it again 😦

For Clint (July 2008) – I think the plot you describe is a mesh of two different movies: “Seven” (1995) where Brad Pitt and Morgan Freeman track down Kevin Spacey who is killing people in ways to highlight the 7 deadly sins. The other movie is “Silence of the Lambs” (1991) where the bad guy is skinning girls in such a way that he can fashion a ‘skin suit’ (he wants to be a girl).

Looking for the title of a Fred MacMurray film, in which he is looking for treasure/loot/etc in an occupied house, eventually teaming up with a young lady. The family’s young daughter is mentally ill, and continually rocks and sings a nonsensical song “Onhorseflysis, incombbeesis, onchestknobis, inknobkeysis” – which turns out to be the plain verse directions to finding the keys to unlock the chest. When the family’s older ‘gangster’ daughter returns, she is also looking for the treasure/loot, and mayhem ensues. Any ideas? Thanks!

I have been trying to figure out this movie for over a year now. Whenever I tell someone, no one knows what I am talking about!
I dont remember who is in it exactly, maybe edward norton or Giovanni Ribisi. But someone is on trial for a crime of some sort, I think it was a bad one. They are retarded and so his lawyer doesnt think he did it and tries to get him off.
The last scene s what I remember : The lawyer goes into a jail cell I believe and is talking to his client and he won the case to his client is free to go. All this time he has been studdering and acting retarded, he walks out of the jail and turns back and says something to his lawyer in perfect english. At that moment the lawyer knows that he wasnt innocent and that he was played the whole time.

I’m looking for a movie that would have probably been on oxygen or lifetime channel. I can’t remember the actors or acctresses although one may have been kiersten warren. Something about poetry and rhapsody and the part that stuck is she is picking between two guys and makes the one guy promise to come to her when it rains and he promises and then when it rains he races to her house on a motorcycle or something only to find that the other guy was already there.

im looking for a movie watch only about 3-4 years ago, its about a girl who goes for this intaview and they ask her a question i cant remember the question but i think it was something like, do you know what you want to do or something about finding yourself i dont know but she then wants to find herself, after the interview she was walking in the park and some little boy did something (cant remember) and she saves him and then the mom come an offers her a job and she takes it and she ends up living in there apartment and she looks after the boy like a opper!!!

This is a classic. It’s about a man in old England that fills his days just picking up strings and straw he finds on the side of the road in his village. For some reason the powers that be in this small village decide to arrest him for stealing.
He serves his miserable sentence and one day gets out. He wanted to get back at these twisted ppl that did this to him. Eventually he became the mayor of this town and deals with those people appropriately.

Looking for a title to this book.
A group of astronauts who got stranded in space but finally returned after 12 years (their time) but really 60 years (earth time) They land on the coast of France and are immeadiately attacked by a group of young hoodlems. Come find out all old people are dead and only the young survived. Lots of hostililty throughout Europe. They finally find the old tunnel under the English Channel and with difficulty get to England and find the same conditions prevailing but without the hostility. Would make a great movie..

I need a title. Its about a black man who is turned in to the cops by three friends he pulled a job with. He went to jail they didn’t. When he gets out he uses the money he hid from that job to start over. A new nickname, new condo, and new car. he uses his new life as a way to get revenge on the friends that turned him in. During his revenge plot he meets an ex-stripper and falls in love. He helps out a friend from jail who joins in his revenge along with another stripper who falls in love with the other guy from jail.

Movie is about a woman in her mid to late 6o’s. She is in a rut of a marriage. Everything is so predictable. She meets a man at some kind of meeting. After befriending him, she contemplates having an affair with him but in the end it turns out that this man is already married and was quite suprised that the woman had those kinds of feelings for him. I could have sworn Olympia Dukakis played the part of the woman but I did not see the description of this kind of movie in her credits. Help!!

im looking for a movie. prob made around the 90s. its about 2 kids who run away from a childrens home they were placed in to their criminal father. he is due to go to court for a crime but his friend calls n asks if he wants a get rich quick job n he says yes… but hes stuck with the two kids. a teenage girl and a boy.. maybe 10. well at the end the kids get him to go to court and it comes out that one of the men working at the chilrens home raped a few girls n the guy who owns it just looked away. the dad goes to jail and does his time and at the end the 2 kids go back to their dad.

its a book about a young girl who died by a gas explosion but is trapped on earth because she had done an equal amount of good and bad in life. first she ruined her father or step fathers life and reputation by revealing who he was and then she saved an old man from being killed by her partner in crime. her partner in crime was a boy who had his dog with him and during the explosion the morphed into some weird humandog thing and was sent after her to bring her to hell but she is trying to win herself into heaven. sound familiar to anyone?

When I was about 11 I read a book at school about a boy living in a future where they’re drugged by the water supply to stay compliant and subdued. I think he meets a boy living outside the system who awakens him to stop drinking the water and he escapes to a society hunted and feared by the powers in control.
I have no idea of the name or the author and I’m 37 now so it was a long time ago.
Anyone have any ideas?

Hi i am looking for a book i read as a kid. This book follows a boy who is between 12 and 14? his father works at a museum and brought home a mummy. This is a Egyptian mummy who unlike others doesn’t have some sort of special coins on his eyes. since he doesn’t have the coins he can not pass to the underworld. The boy and his friend go to the underworld and try to find coins.
I really don’t remember much more than that but i really liked this book and would like to find out the name of it.. Thanks

A couple years later, the boy found out that the girl is in danger. Her father and uncle / some other relatives were murdered ,and now the bad guys are after the girl. They suspect that she knows some thing that she shouldn’t. somehow, the guy finds her and takes her to his place. They hide out, run from the bad guys, etc. ( The guy is very rich and successful, and has a very hot fiance. He is also very intellegent, great at detective stuff, very good at fighting and other stuff. Because he used to be a spy or something.) During the book, the young woman works out to make herself fit and not as useless as she thinks she is. She grows to be very fit and sexy (in the guy’s opinion)Also during this time, the two of them are trying to find out what the bad guys dont want them to know. They go to Rome/Italy or someplace. They find out the big mystery.. aand BANG BANG BOOM, the bad guys are dead. The guy leaves his blonde fiance and gets together with his first love. — If any of you know the name of this book, PLEASE help me! or tell me how i can find it.

I’m looking for a romance book, where female siblings are kidnapped on horseback outside of a convent. They are kept in a tent, where they offer to sew their enemy captors blankets and shirts. The heroine sews the sleeves of the leaders shirts closed, and they cut the blankets to shreds. The heroine sneaks out, steals a horse, which ends up being the leaders. In the darkness she unknowinly has the horse jump to his death, but not before he throws her safely off.
The heroine falls in love w/the leader, who has to battle her father’s soldiers, when they arrive. He is nearly killed in the battles/competions.
Time frame is probably mid-evil, with the old fashion ways.

Science fiction futurist movie where a man is destroyed except only his leg remains, and grows back into a man, who is trying to rule a futristic Ney York type city. There is also some form of space ship overhead during most of the movie. The beginning seemed a bit animated, where a bird like creature morphs into a man.

hi im looking for a book that i read in highscool in 97 it was written by a female author and it is about 600 pages long. its about a man named damien he is a lord and she is high society. story starts out with her meeting him at a party on the balcony.he is labeled as a bad boy and she is warned by her older brother to stay away from him. they end up falling in love. in the middle of the book she is taken captive and sold to a brothel he finds her and buys her back from the madam that runs the brothel. the guy turns out to be a double spy. the book is very suspenseful and packed full of drama. thecover is dark and its a man and a woman laying down on the ground he is tanned with long black hair. please help me find this book.

I BELIEVE ITS A HARLEQUIN ROMANCE BUT DOESN’T HAVE TO BE. Its about a couple that was once married. The husband returned early from a business trip and caught the wife (who is an artist) in bed with a younger man and thought she cheated on him. It turned out the man was his sister’s boyfriend and his sister sent him to the wife’s room to frame her (the sister hated the wife). They have a fight where the wife is upset that the husband doesn’t believe her and walks out (leaves him with her suitcase). The husband thinks that means she’s guilty and throws his wine glass at the door as soon as she shuts it. A year later the guy’s same sister is in a coma (i think after a car accident) and has been mumbling his ex-wife’s name (probably regretfully). So he brings his ex-wife in the hospital to help his sister (his whole family thinks the wife cheated so they hate her and glare when they see her) His sister gets better but forgets (temporary amnesia) her brother was divorced so the ex-wife pretends to be his wife again (so the sister doesn’t have shock to make her medical condition worse). The husband even builds an art room for the wife while they are pretending to be in love. The wife thinks he is only pretending for the sister but the truth is both are falling in love again. She eventually goes home (when the sister regains her memory; the sister is shocked at how she tore the wife and husband which was her brother apart, and wants to tell the husband but the wife says its in the past and the husband doesn’t have to know ) but then the husband follows her back to her house and tells her he wants to get back together. The wife thinks that the sister told the husband what really happened and he’s here to get her side of the story so she explains what happened. The husband is horrified to learn what really happened and is ashamed he doubted her he was going to forgive her for cheating on him but he realizes she never did. He then shows her a house and says he bought it for them to live together in and they make up.
I tried to add as many details (i also think either the wife or sister’s name starts with with either a c or k) as i could. PLEASEEEEEEEE help me find the title, I loved the book and have been looking EVERYWHERE!
