I’m looking for a book which i only ever got to read about half of. it starts off with a teen girl cant remember her name) running away form her abusive father, leaving behind her mum, sister and brother. the family arent even registered and the kids dont go to school. Shes on the run and accepts a lift from some boys, who take her to there trailer house where there is a baby that she decides she really likes. the boys drug her and try to rape her although she manages to get out of there. next morning she is walking along the road (or something like that) and is picked up by the local cop. he buys her some food and takes her to his home because he feels sorry for her and can tell that she has had a hard time. As it turns out the cop and his wife had a daughter a few years ago who died and since then the wife has become an alcoholic. they take the girl in cos she is around the same age as their daugther and they treat her like a daughter. the wife ends uo dying from DD. not long after the funeral, the girl and the cop start sleeping with each other and fall in love, creating a bit of a scandal. she finds out she is pregnant, which she is very happy about. meanwhile, the cop has had another affair with a woman who doesnt like that it is over. she sees the cop teaching the girl how to swim in the lake and gets really jealous. the other woman thn tries to kill the girl, who ends up shooting her instead. the girl, now realises that she cant stay where she is so she runs away to the coast. once there she meets a young woman living in a trailer with her two kids and good for nothing boyfriend. she earns her money by stripping and tells our girl that she could get a job there as well, if she needs money.
thats as far as i got into the book. hope someone can help me, i know its written all over the place.

I thought the name of the movie was “Fully Paid”. It was a B&W movie, the plot was like this… Woman backs out of a driveway and runs over a child (her niece or nephew) and he dies. This woman is the sister of the married couple. She decides to get pregnant by her brother in law to replace the child they lost. She dies in labor (medical decision had to be made to save either the woman or the child and the woman wanted to die to pay back her sister for the child they lost)

Trying to find a movie probably made 10-15 years ago. Man and woman are getting up in age and man is totally irritated by everything his wife does. Recall a scene showing her old fat butt on a seat at a ball game. man constantly gripes at wife and seems to be totally unpleased with all she does. Wife dies while cleaning the house, think it was vacuuming the floor. Man finds out later that his wife had a love affair with one of his buddies. Older daughter in the movie lives out of town.

A wealthy British family is marooned on an island along with their servants. The head of the family, referred to as “Guv’nor”, finds that his skills in the world of banking and finance have little or no value on the island. The butler and servants are the ones with survival skills and eventually the butler becomes the leader and is referred to as “Guv’nor”. He and the banker’s daughter fall in love and plan to marry (which is fine on the island where the petty and restrictive class distinctions have been overturned) but…well, I won’t give away the ending. This movie was on tv in the 70s (or maybe the 60s?…not sure). I would love to find it and see it again. I wonder if I would find it as entertaining now. Thanks for your help!

I’m looking for a book about a boy who joins a gang in the 1800s I think. It’s leader is a girl and either her name or the gang’s name is Angel. He challenges the name and in the night, the leader threatens him by almost strangling him. Later, the gang is broken up because some get sick and others killed and the boy goes to a wealthy man’s home until he finds out that he’s evil. The boy beats the man with a cane and runs away.

OK …..This is going to be a hard one for anyone to figure out! you guys all should try asking these questions on yahoo answers. people do that on there all the time, and more often then not they get an answer. not saying that this site is a bad idea, but seriously, i don’t even see anywhere you can reply and tell all of these people if you know the book or movie… kind of a poor setup… oh but i’ve got a movie too. (haha…) it starts out with this criminal (diamond thief or something? she definitely has an affiliation with diamonds, that’s all i know) but she’s a lesbian and she’s trying to date but nobody works out until she kidnaps some high school or college girl(?) and lets just say that the girl, uhum, discovers her inner lesbian. haha. except i THINK that the girl was at a school training girls to be spies or something. all i know is that she was the only one to get the perfect score on the test that admits you to the school. i think it was the SAT’s actually… Hey wait!!!!! i think it’s called Perfect Score!!!!! ok i’m gonna go look it up hold on a sec… nope thats a different movie. but guess what? i found it anways. it’s called D.E.B.S. and all i did was type “lesbian diamond thief, SATs” into google. hahaha….. good luck everybody…

I saw a movie in the early 60’s about a family that got in a car wreck. The parents died and the boy was sent to the hospital. The dog was lost and at the end finaly found the boy wher ehe wa sliving in a foster home.

Well its an animation movie, or cartoon, from the late 70’s to early 80’s. (I think)
Cannot remember the title but remember a few scene from it
it was about 3 good witches on a mission to save something or someone, whilst flying on their brooms 2 out of the 3 witches had to give their powers to the 3rd so she can continue with the mission, the youngest witch with long blond hair crashed into the forest on her broom after giving her remaining powers to the witch continuing with her mission. she then met a boy in the forest and romance began to blossom between them.
Thats all i remember really.

A film title that I would like to know…
A man driving at night along a deserted small lane finds the way blocked by a large tree lying across the passageway. For some reason, that I can’t recall he hides, and watches as another car approaches – the occupant gets out and uses a key to activate a mechanism that lifts up the tree – allowing the car to pass underneath – the tree then is returned to its prostrate position.
The hidden man watches this happen again with the next car that arrives – once the tree is back across the road – he stealthily follows the lane up to a large house. He carefully breaks in and spies from an upper landing a meeting of some form of secret society.
He inadvertently alerts them to his presence – some form of struggle occurs – he hits his head on the stairs (I think) and then wakes up – a number of years later (if I recall correctly I think the time is now 1968 and that some three years have elapsed).
He finds that he has a new name – and a new affluent lifestyle! He is told that he has just received a bump on his head from a fall from his horse whilst playing polo. He realises that he must have suffered amnesia at the mysterious house years previously. When he finds a distinctive key in his desk drawer he is told by his servant (or his wife ?) that, should he ever ask about the key, he must be directed to speak with his physician – a Dr (name I can’t recall). He visits the doctor, cautiously – with good reason The doctor has instructed his butler to strangle the man; however the plot fails and the doctor is confronted by the man and reluctantly reveals some of the secrets. Only some, because the doctor has already poisoned himself – he is deemed to have failed to keep the amnesia blocking the man’s memory.
Subsequently the man now goes back with the key to the house to discover the full meaning of what occurs there and put right the wrongs.

I’m after the title of a movie I saw as a kid, it was b & w set in america in the late 50’s or early 60’s. there was a woman who somehow ends up captive in a basement-like apartment with a man that goes out & gets drunk every night – one night he tries to rape her & she kicks him (with real pointy shoes)in the eye which he loses then wears a patch. he finds out that she caused his eye injury so he unlocks the door & tells her to leave only she doesn’t as they have actually fallen in love. they are the only people in the movie. thanks I hope u can help.

Hi, I’m looking for a book that I read a couple months ago, I can remember the plot really well but no character names, title or author.
A man who is a computer whiz and part time hacker discovers a picture of two people meeting on the hard drive of his employers’ computer mainframe. The employers have him killed, because the picture isn’t supposed to exist, the company made spy satellites for the us government but secretly made copies of every picture that the government took. Sister of deceased goes to a friend of her brother who was killed and that guy who is like hero of the series, lives in st.Paul Minnesota and he has a friend who is a con artist, she’s also of romantic interest to him.
I wish I knew more to tell you but if you can think of what book this is, that would be greatly appreciated/

I am lookin for a movie about a kid that goes to summer camp and does something wrong while he’s there. (some kid stuff) but the cops come to pick him up in the middle of the night because his family is going into protective custody from the mob. He runs away because he thinks hes in trouble but when he gets home the house is empty. Everything gone. He spends the rest of the movie running from some mobsters who are trying to kidnap him. I can’t remember the title of a movie from the 40s or 50s where a man proves his ability to make a fortune from nothing.
The setting is around the turn of the century. He makes a bet where he starts with nothing, not even the clothes on his back, charges the witnesses 25 cents each to see him naked (in order to verify that he is starting with nothing), rents a towel for a nickle to go out in public without being arrested, then keeps working every deal imaginable increasing his wealth at every turn.
It is a fast paced comedy, possibly with Don Ameche, but I couldn’t find the movie in his IMDB listing.

This is an independent film where the first half of the movie shows this girl who works for this guy and they start dating . Well the relationship turns sour and the next thing you know it shows her in her apartment turning the gas on and laying on the floor . Then it stops and rewinds all the way to the begining and its his side . The girl was just obsessed with him . He was married .

Hi, i am looking for a film title, its an old film, about a reporter who wants to write a story about being on death row. He agrees with the warden and goes onto death row as an inmate. When its his turn for the chair he want to see the warden who is not available, he goes to the chair thinking he will die, they put the hood on him, he is screeming.., then goes quite, it appears the warden and the newspaper editer wanted it to be as real as poss, they are sitting behind the screen, his hood is removed, it looks like he has died of fright!!.Please help me find the title so i can see it again.

I am looking for an older indie film. It is set in england I believe. There are 3 or four english guys who work for a henchman boss. He sends them to America to rob a fellow Mafia type. They end up accidently robbing the wrong house. They meet up with a mexican man who helps them hide from the mafia. They get a lowrider car to drive around in and the mexican people they stole it from are after them too. It is funny and thrilling. I cant remember one single actor in it. please help me out I need a title.

Looking for title and/or author for this book. Four female college roomies. One falls in love with man who is an architect and obsessed with building his dream house. This man jilts his girlfriend to marry one of her roommates who has property on a beach and the perfect site for this architects dreamhome. One of the four women roomies was made fun of by the other three. She was strange and an ugly duckling. Later in the book there is a college reunion (quite a few years later) at the home of the woman who lives in the house on the beach. The ugly duckling shows up, a famous writer now and beautiful. She is also psycho and has come for revenge against the three that were not kind to her in school. The architect’s wife has gotten fat and sloppy and her husband tries to rekindle the flame between him and his former love. There is a cabin (motel room) that is the rendevous spot on the beach. A huge storm blows in and I can’t remember details of all that happened there. But I think this is enough if any one has read this story. thanks

I’m looking for a book that I read about 20 years ago. It started with a Russian (I think) woman dying and her husband making all of their children promise to name their first-born daughter Frances Rebecca after their mother. Fast-forward to the 4 cousins in late teens to early 20’s, Frankie, Becca, Cissy and Jinx (the one no one knows about who is the daughter of one of the sons from when he was in the military). This is driving me CRAZY – I thought it was called Jinx or Jinxed but apparently it isn’t.

Movie: released? May be Brit.. woman arrives @ theatre dressed in long black skirt and revealing scuptled gold top. Heavy security but she goes to WC and removes top giving it to waiting friend. Long intriguing drama, ends with serious twist at end w/young woman attempting suicide. It’s her imagination-ergo the twist. Anybody have a clue? Thanks Carol

i am looking for a movie that has to do with a woman who supposebly loses her husband in was and has another guy kind of stalking her. when the guy tries to kill her another guy the (blank) man saves her life. It turns out that the (blank) man was actually her husband that she lost, its just his face is all messed up and he didnt want his wife and kids to see how bad he looks. he wanted to keep an eye on her n the kids to make sure they were safe. OH and yeah she new it was her husbdan becuase he had a loc of hair of hers that she gave him, so he could wear it and remember her.

I’m looking for a book I read years ago. It was written 1st POV about a man who finds a guy who has broken into his apartment. The guy knocks the burgular out and ties him to the kitchen sink. I am trying to find an old Will Hayes film I saw years ago. All I can remember of the plot is that Will Haye’s character was sent to Germany in WW11 to teach English to German spys. It was very funny as I remember it and I would like to see it again but can’t remember the title. Can anyone help?
