Fiction Menu is a site that lets you search for books and movies by plot details. The methodology is very unscientific, so it’s highly unlikely that you’ll be able to find a book you half remember reading as a child. Really, it lets you search other people’s descriptions of recommended books and vote their description up and down. The descriptions vary in quality. Here’s the description for Crime and Punishment:
A poor student kills an old woman, money-lender. But money is not the only stimulus. The murder is grounded on the student’s theory of morality.
Wow. Not much to go on.
Still, it’s a great idea. If the site takes off it could become incredibly useful.

I can’t remember the title of a book I read in elementary school. It was about a dog and a cat going to a kennel. At the kennel, dogs and cats are being murdered or going missing and they have to figure it out. Something in the title was “howl” I think. They may have made a cartoon movie about it for kids.

I saw this short film cica 1961 – 1963. there is no or minimum dialog, the entire movie is seen from the perspective of the principal actor, whose face is seen only, once as a reflection of a clown face.And through the entire film the theme of the Swedish Rhapsody is played. The plot is similar to that of “the stranger left no card”, but it is not that film! It was being shown on the NAFFI circuit cica 1961, when I was stationed at 1 Air Division HQ Metz France with the RCAF.

I’m looking for the name of this old movie. This teacher follows her student named Everett to Florida to get his report. The teacher has a neckbrace on in the movie and Everett is having fun while he has someone else writing his report for him and promises to bring him a girl back to the hotel for him.

movie starts with a quickie marriage on a local small town tv station. Bride is taken to a really run down farm where groom needs to fix it up. They somehow findthemselves on a roof during a rainstorm where they make love which in some way carries on a tradition. Mixed marriage is somehow involved

Looking for a book where in the setting is post WW II, most probably Italy/ Spain/ Britain.A disenchanted retired Army officer with shattered family life, decides to meet his fellow Platoon person, all retired. He is totally disenchanted, as every single of them is in dumps. There he finds out, one of his Command recruits whom he has trained is in jail charged with murder committed during a brawl. He goes to him, and how he helps him and gets on with life forms rest of the story. Any idea who and what the title could be?

Searching for a Movie title. Not sure of the Date. Location – Mediterranean Coast? Man with an island home kills his wife and eludes investigators with the “perfect alibi” and hiding in a crawlspace in the floor. Movie ends when the killer, thinking he has gotten away with murder, returns to the scene of the crime. He is surprised by a final visit to the island home by investigators and has to hide himself in the crawlspace again. As the investigators are preparing to leave, one of them slides a piece of furniture over his only escape route. Final scene is of the killer watching the police leave the island on a boat. Not knowing his fate has been sealed.

I’m trying to remember the name of a book I read a couple of years ago, a young adult book set in the future where everyone vlogs their lives and there’s a ranking system all over the world. And everyone belongs in a specific group, like there’s a group of people who’ve implanted a chip in their brain that means they can’t lie and the ‘journalist group’. But the main character finds some kind of government secret and becomes famous by threatening to/ actually exposing this big story. I can’t for the life of me think of names or more details about the name of the book or author! Please help 🙂

hi im trying to find out a movie about some guy who can’t date girls cos if he does and kisses them they die except for one if he kisses her she dies but when he kisses again she becomes alive again it was a comedy back mid 2000’s can’t remember the name can someone help

I vaguely remember a movie I saw from the 70s about a guy that drove a van and he was always fighting with another young man and when they would fight the van driver would take his leather belt and wrap it around his hand. He knocked the other guy out and then pulled down his pants and beat him with the belt. At the end of the movie they start to fight again but some girls won’t let the van driver use his belt wrapped around his hand and the other boy knocks him out. This is definitely a B movie and that’s all I can remember of it. Any help is appreciated.

iam trying to find the name of a movie about a mother and her daughter named Dixie,who never knew her father and always asks her mom about him.and they go to stay at the grandmother’s house and while their there the two learn more about each other and the mom ends up finding her ex husband who is also the father of Dixie.

Movie I saw back in 2010 (approx.)
The group of friends (students, hikers, etc.) walks in the desert (Argentina, Mexico?),
they die one by one that looks like accidents,
two girls and one guy remain,
a cave man (homeless man?) attacks and kills one girl, and the guy kills cave man,
the last girl puts a camcorder on the rock, cries, and tells a story of this journey, while the last guy is walking on the background,
he is unaware of being videotaped, and cannot hear that she is talking,
suddenly, he comes to her and shoots her in the head, then he buries her body in the sand and walks away without noticing a camcorder,
the flashback reveals that all hikers were murdered by this guy (I can’t recollect why),
the local shepherd boy comes with his goats and finds camera and girl’s hand sticking out of the sand,
he runs to his village where people watch the video and recognize the murderer that just came to this village as a tourist,
the guy looks at them from the balcony of his hotel room and smiles friendly as he doesn’t know what they see on video.
